Event Description

WB119: Disaster Preparedness - Reaching LEP Communities After a Disaster Occurs

This recorded webinar will be available until  September 30, 2019

This 90 minute live webinar is focused on reaching limited English proficient (LEP) communities before, during, and after a disaster. The course reviews laws, regulations, and resources directly impacting LEP communities during times of natural and man-made disasters.  Participants will review tips and tools for reaching LEP communities in emergency preparedness, response, and recovery.

Housing professionals, such as housing counselors will be trained on how to provide information to households as they face disasters.  This will ensure they are able to assist LEP communities in being best prepared for a disaster, knowing how to best respond, and assisting communities re-grow long after the disaster has passed.
