WB122: Aging in Community Webinar -Rec Webinar
Older adults are the fastest growing sector of the U.S. population, increasing from 35 million in 2000 to 72 million in 2030. According to AARP, nearly 90% of older adults want to Age in Place and Age in Community. Older adult housing needs to be safer, healthier, and affordable for low- and moderate-income older adults. This is a growing challenge and opportunity.
NCRC, in partnership with older adult advocacy groups, has developed an expanded approach to Aging in Community that combines housing upgrades, safety, health, community engagement, and financial capability supports. NCRC will share these ideas and concepts, which are incorporated in NCRC’s recent publication Staying at Home: The Role of Financial Institutions in Aging in Community, published through the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. NCRC will share this framework in the webinar and feature innovative Aging in Community strategies from NCRC members, providing resources and supports to help people Age in Place. Financial and technical information will be shared from some of our national partners.
This webinar is geared towards affordable housing developers, CDCs, CDFIs, community action agencies, senior LGBT housing providers, and other aging network members focused on health and housing.
This webinar is co-sponsored with Community Action Partnership SAGE, and Housing Assistance Council.
