Mental Health During Challenging Times

This webinar will focus on gaining a greater understanding of mental health and its impact on overall well-being. It will also discuss the impact of COVID-19 on people with mental health challenges. Housing Counselors will learn how to enhance existing observational and reflective listening skills to enable them to confidently have conversations around the topic of mental health and COVID-19. Attendees will also gain a greater awareness of appropriate interventions when working with clients with potential mental health challenges. This webinar will review self-care strategies to prevent Housing Counselors from becoming overwhelmed, burnt out, or experiencing compassion fatigue. 

 You will learn:

  • What is mental health and how does it impact well-being?

  • How COVID-19 has impacted the mental health of clients

  • Strategies and interventions to engage with clients around the topics of mental health and creating change

  • How to identify self-care strategies to prevent Housing Counselors from experiencing compassion fatigue, becoming overwhelmed, or feeling burnt out
