Event Description

VL512: Fundraising for Sustainability

June 23-24, 2021

Wednesday & Thursday 10:00am - 3:00pm EST

Across the nation, nonprofit organizations' programs, operations, and capital have been negatively impacted by natural disasters, racial injustice while providing services during the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent shutdown. The sheer scale of the crisis also sent many grant makers and donors into a triage mode with shortened periods of emergency funding applications, as they determine which urgent needs most warrant support. Foundations have had to make difficult choices quickly, adding additional pressure to nonprofit grant proposal developers.

With these challenges, now more than ever, nonprofits need fundraising and development strategies that are well structured, creative and data driven. During this two-day course, we will discuss tips and strategies for growing nonprofit fundraising capacity, fundraising cultures and the infrastructures required for achieving fundraising goals. This course will also include marketing and branding strategies that attract and engage key stakeholders for a mutually sustainable relationship.

In this training, participants will gain knowledge about donor portfolio development and management, the psychology of giving and maximizing their digital fundraising ecosystem to build an effective fundraising program. We will also learn about forecasting fundraising revenue, measures to avoid future gaps in revenue, and steps to prepare a timely response to expedited funding application processes.

You will learn...

Develop a holistic approach to fundraising, with a goal of “bridge building to the future of the organization” and implementing sustainable practices

Identify new methods to engage supporters and nurture donor relationships during the COVID-19 pandemic

Create an Emergency Response System to safeguard your agency against future challenges that may negatively impact the organization’s cash flow

Develop an expedited proposal development process tailored to respond to the shortened response period of emergency grant makers

View the big picture and reimagine existing programs to both meet the current needs of a more diverse population and address the immediate needs caused by a societal crisis
